China LED Lighting Market Takes Off
Lighting accounts for 19% of worldwide power consumption, but 12% in China. However, with living condition and public facilities improvements, lighting power consumption will no doubt increase. The Chinese government commits to reduce 45% of the 2005 level of CO?(carbon dioxide) exhaust by 2020. Introducing alternative energy sources becomes essential to fulfill this commitment.

Handset Charger to Follow Universal Standard
ITU just annouced that it will develop a universal power adapter and charger solution for mobile terminals and other ICT devices. This is important to China¡¯s YD/T1591 which is a Chinese standard to unify connections and power specification on the charger-side. China Outlook Consulting analysts believe that the market and technical experiences gained over the 2.5 years YD/T1591 execution of unifying handset chargers and adaptors will give China an important role in the new ITU initiative.

2009: Happy Year for Distributors
China Outlook Consulting analysts interviewed executives of franchised distributors to probe their business progress at the end of 2009. We are surprised by their 30-50% year over year revenue growth in 2009. What made them harvest in a year of bad economy?
Interviewed distributors had a great 2009 business year. The real sales were not only better than expected, but also built revenue to peak points. Looking forward to 2010, they are very positive because of the global economy recovery and Chinese government¡¯s stimulation regulations such as ¡°Old Products to barter for New Products¡±, ¡°Home Appliance to Village Program¡± and a big investment of RMB 4000 billion from Chinese government.
