China Outlook Consulting captured a 3-in-1 network convergence product trend¡ªCMMB+TD handset TV. It utilizes CMMB (China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting) for downstream movie broadcasting and TD-SCDMA (China 3G) for upstream instruction transmission. Interestingly, the CMMB+TD handsets are hot in China, driven by the world soccer games in South Africa. People like mobile TV for entertainment anytime as needed. CMMB is a China digital TV standard that enables TV program play on any terminal. Internet movie download and Internet surfing are major selling points for Internet TV due to its US$ 500 add-on price on retail.
